FORT IRWIN - They weren't young anymore, far from it, but they still had a bit of swagger and roll in their gait and a don't-tread-on-me look in their eyes.
The young people - the active duty soldiers clad in black berets, fatigue uniforms and combat boots - were the ones doing them honor Wednesday.
It was Fort Irwin's second` annual Welcome Home to veterans of the Vietnam War. Hundreds of vets from all branches of the service and supporters who wanted to show them how welcome they are filled a huge tent at the desert fort.
